Training Thoroughbred Horse

To fully understand the connection between the trainer and the horse, horse training is very important. Thoroughbred horse training is not something to joke about. The ultimate goal in this is perfection, hence the serious task conducted painstakingly. As the trainer would not settle for anything less than perfection, thoroughbred training may involve an element of danger too. Tight protective measures are observed during training to avoid any harm to the horse and the trainer.

In order to prevent accidents, take into consideration the safety measures first before you dive into the world of thoroughbred horse training. First of, you’ve got to be dressed appropriately wearing a vest, comfortable shirt, tights and boots. Comfort is much important than fashion when riding. Do not wear skimpy outfits during the training for it might be ruined when you’re riding on the horse.

Second, you must wear protective gear during riding. Protective gears must be worn to avoid major injuries to the head or fractures. Even professional riders could also fall from their horse and be injured. It is better to be safe than sorry later on as sometimes a fall from the horse can be fatal too. Check on the lead ropes and reins first if they are fastened tightly and correctly before you start riding the horse. You might loose balance unexpectedly with any loose rope or rein.

Consider your own body built too if you’re thinking of venturing into horse training. For thoroughbred horse training, a fit body is a must. Horse riding is a physically demanding sport and a rider with an unfit body would not be able to carry it out successfully as it would be too stressful on his body.

Above all “stay cool”. Always stay calm in every situation and do not panic or be abusive. Stay focused in the sport singularly. As much as you can, keep negative thoughts off your mind as it would help keep the horse calm and cool. If both the horse and the trainer trust each other, horse training is possible. By speaking to your horse in a soothing, loving, and calm voice, you can also calm his nerves. Communicate to him that he is in safe hands.

For thoroughbred horse training it is of utmost importance that the horse has full confidence in his trainer. A horse would agree to follow the lead of his trainer only when he trusts him completely. As a trainer, try to build this trust and train the horse accordingly. You should take adequate safety measures and create a winning combination with your thoroughbred horse.
